Did you feel the earthquake? Although the east coast usually does not get quakes in the area, the USGS reports a 5.9 earthquake striking, with the epicenter near Richmond, Virginia., according to a U.S. Geological Survey spokesperson.

The earthquake sent tremors from the nation’s capital to New York City Tuesday afternoon, the result of what officials said was an earthquake based in Virginia.

NOBODY LIKES BUSY BODIES

They can be fat, skinny, tall, short, young, old, male, female, clerk or senior manager, busybodies come in all shapes, sizes, industries and job titles. That's part of their skill.

Busybodies aren't always easy to identify at first, and before you know it they've become our confidants who know everything about us. They can then make life unpleasant when they decide to use their knowledge to get their way or just to spread rumors.

NICE AND EASY DOES IT

Individuals who are regularly stressed out by inconsiderate people around the are more likely to keep that stress with them. and pass it on to whoever is unfortunate enough to be near them.

People who experience such incivility keep the stress, negative emotion and perceived ostracism that results from those experiences, which then affects more than their daily lives – it also creates problems for their health and their well being.

ARE WE WHAT WE CONSUME?

There is a notion that to stay fit and healthy we need to consume good food and content.

This phrase has come to us via quite a tortuous route. Anthelme Brillat-Savarin wrote, in Physiologie du Gout, ou Meditations de Gastronomie Transcendante, 1826: Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are.

In an essay entitled Concerning Spiritualism and Materialism, 1863/4, Ludwig Andreas Feuerbach wrote: 'man is what he eats'.

Following the Arab Spring of 2011, which brought down Mubarak in Egypt, US seemed to outsource much of our Syria political policy to the ancient capital city of Ankara, Turkey.
But now that all our efforts have proven unable, or incapable of convincing that Syrian dictator to adopt reforms, Americans must insist that our leaders formulate solid plans for that entire region.

Hurricane Irene could turn into a major storm with winds above 110 mph if it reaches the Southeast U.S. coast, the U.S. National Hurricane Center warned Monday as the people of Puerto Rico began cleaning up and those in the Dominican Republic get geared up.

Puerto Ricans woke up this morning to flooded streets following the overnight passage of Hurricane Irene, which was moving just north of the Dominican Republic as a Category 1.
