Who wants to build a wall and will do whatever necessary to get his way no matter what most Americans say? As a sign of intense US interest in this issue the news increases. Unfortunately, this is an old story with an evil twist.

POTUS has to realize that it is not only that this looks terrible in the eyes of the world. It is awful for 2,000 children who have been ripped from their parents’ arms over the past month. These policies are cruel, inhumane and certainly not America.

The lost vote could very well turn into the last vote. I was born under a banana republic type dictatorship, which gave way to Communist rule. Later in life, I had the opportunity to work for one of the world's largest Propaganda machines. The term refers to misinformation which may not be objective and used to influence folks by presenting unverified facts to encourage a particular perception using loaded language to produce an emotional rather than a rational response. Propaganda is associated with governments but not limited to it.

It's a bunch of hot air, and it's dangerous to humans and animals alike. The combination of high temperatures and high humidity is causing excessive heat advisories and warnings in Chicago and St. Louis as forecasters warned of blistering heat in northern tier states spreading to the East Coast. My two daughters and their families live in Califonia and my son who says he's going to be a lifelong bachelor moved out some time ago.

We Need Our Wetlands

Wetlands are valuable ecosystems that can slow erosion, prevent flooding by retaining storm waters, filter and decompose pollutants, and slow global warming by converting carbon dioxide into oxygen at a prodigious rate.

Wetlands are protected under the Clean Water Act. These are vital to the nation's water quality. Their dense vegetation helps filter out toxins as water flows through. Wetlands provide key fish and bird habitat and protect coastal land from hurricanes.
