BULLETS OR BALLOTS... YOU DECIDE

Submitted by ub on

Whomever you decide to vote for, whether it's Democrat Barack Obama or Republican Mitt Romney, you'll be voting for more than a president. You'll be casting your ballot for and against a series of policies that will touch your life and shape our nation for the next four years.

Its difficult to tell with all the mudslinging, those negative advertising spots, sound bite zingers and assorted other camp pain bull. This election is a contest of ideas and each candidate's words will have to connect to their future deeds in office.

Develop Stronger, Flexible Core Muscles

Submitted by ub on

Exercise programs often spotlight arms, legs, and abdominal muscles, while paying little attention to many of the muscles that make up your body's core. Your core includes muscles in your back, side, hips, pelvis, and buttocks, as well as your abdominal muscles. These muscles are critical to improving performance in almost any sport or activity, sidestepping debilitating back pain, and enhancing balance and stability.

A strong, flexible core can help you:
• Ward off or ease low back pain
• Ease the strain of everyday activities like housework, gardening, etc.
• Add power to sports and other pleasurable pursuits
• Increase agility when lifting, bending, turning, or reaching
• Improve balance and stability to prevent falls
• Strengthen your abs with the support of strong back and hip muscles

The Big East Conference

In the last few years it seems almost each school has switched their conferences for football. I couldn’t honestly tell you what school belongs to what conference anymore. I am a Notre Dame fan. I was personally upset when I saw on sports center that they have switched from the Big East to the ACC. There was a time that your conference represented where your school was. Now we have teams half way across the country belonging to certain conferences. The conferences now have no correlation to where the schools are located.
