The US war on Afghanistan has so far lasted 10 years and counting. We count lives, we count costs and Americans continue to count This war has outlasted the Civil War and The Vietnam War. Billions have been poured into Afghanistan, while The Taliban have been forced out of power and Osama bin Laden has been killed.

What are we waiting for? This U.S.-led war on Afghanistan began back on October 7, 2011, with an air campaign that was followed by a ground invasion.

Occupy Wall Street Movement Grows

Since it started on September 17th, there have been arrests, the use of pepper spray by police, but the national and international demonstrations continue, as Occupy Wall Street activists keep growing in numbers and their chants are heard louder. Wall Street ways must STOP NOW!

These appear to be folks from different walks of life, who are also frustrated protesters speaking out against many wrongs. Economic inequality, corrupt government, greed, student debt, along with the obvious benefit of being at the media center of the universe, which is right here in New York City.

LIU's new Dean spoke before a packed house of talented visual arts staff and faculty members for the first time this week. Dr. Noel Zahler, a highly respected composer, researcher and administrator, who has led departments, schools of music and interdisciplinary programs at universities across the nation, started his hew job as LIU Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the C.W. Post Campus.
