Derek Jeter was mobbed by teammates at home plate. This great scene occured this afternoon at Yankee Stadium. DJ now becomes the 28th player in baseball history to reach 3 thousand hits.

It came with a home run in the third inning right here in The Bronx at Yankee Stadium. The Bronx bombers were playing Tampa Bay Rays and the pitch was hurdled by David Price.

Derek Jeter becomes the first and only player in the history of The NY Yankees to reach this hallowed number.

Holy Cow, DJ... KUDOS... You are truly a Bronx Bomber!

A couple of years ago, Paul McCartney rocked Shea Stadium, aka Citi Field. The co-founder of The Beatles will now repeat history as he and his band on the run gears up to perform at Yankee Stadium this month.

Live Nation says the legendary singer and former Beatle will rock The Bronx.

Will Bronx love Paul on July 15/16 as much as Paul loves Bronx? Yeah, yeah, yeah!

The widow of late President Gerald Ford and the co-founder of an eponymous addiction center in California, has died at the age of 93, according to the director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.

Betty Ford died Friday evening with members of family by her bedside. May she rest in peace.

The Bronx Bus (BWB)

The Bronx Write Bus (BWB) is a free summer program for Bronx Youth ages 12-18 presented by the Bronx Council on the Arts’ Bronx Writers Center and meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from July 12 through August 11, 2011. The bus rides through New York City this summer, exploring arts and culture and giving voice to a new generation of writers.

Another British Invasion to America

The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge have landed at LAX International Airport in Los Angeles to start their weekend trip to California. Their arrival arrival comes on the heels of after a week and a half tour of Canada. This is their first overseas travel since they were married back in April.

Prince William has traveled to America, bit is Kate's first trip to the U.S.A. The duke of Cambridge's late mother, Princess Diana, who would have turned 50 this month, charmed Americans when she visited in the 1980s.

As Orchard Beach celebrates 75 years, The City Island Historical Society and The City Island Nautical Museum will host an exhibition called " A Landmark Pavilion at Orchard Beach". The exhibit will include City Island and Orchard Beach Images from past and present. The event will be held at the museum on July 17, 2011 @1P. and everyone is welcome.

US Space Shuttle Atlantis blasts off. This is the final American Space Shuttle flight in a long history of successful and unsuccessful space missions. Although this one was clouded by some weather problems, Atlantis shuttle has finally lifted off. The STS-135 Atlantis launch now marks the end of an era in space flight.

This the final flight of the shuttle program is a 12-day mission to the International Space Station.
NASA and many all over the entire world will be watching this last shuttle flight with special interest.
