We can't see the forest for the trees is an expression used when details of a problem are overlooked. The Republican-controlled Congress has been too involved in the wording of bills that they couldn't see the forest for the trees.

By focusing on what is officially defined as illegal or criminal, while a more serious threat to democracy is left out. This threat is caused by predatory practices considered to be skirting the letter of the law, but have multiple adverse social consequences.

India vs Pakistan

The tensions between India and Pakistan have intensified and these two nations may be on the brink of war. This is really serious.

There is good news and then again there is also bad news. Experts fear the increasing possibility of a conventional war and in that case, Pakistan would lose and could possibly resort to nukes.

As tensions among these two nations continue, some are trying to build bridges and dialogue between the two neighboring countries.

Equal justice under the law means just what it says. It should apply to everyone, not just folks who have a savings account or money for a rainy day.

Cash Bail is money that you pay as a deposit for the release of a person who has been arrested (also known as a defendant).

The Department of Finance holds the money to help guarantee that the defendant will return to court for their trial.

The Cash Bail is held in a bank account until the court closes the case and issues a court order to refund the Cash Bail to the person who paid it.

Happy Birthday George Harrison. On this day in 1943, he was born. The Beatles lead guitarist would have turned 76. Harrison passed away on November 29, 2001, after a battle with cancer.

George Harrison was an English guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer who achieved international fame and was ften referred to as "the quiet Beatle", Harrison embraced Indian culture and helped broaden the scope of popular music through his incorporation of Indian instrumentation and Hindu-aligned spirituality in the Beatles' work.

Happy birthday to fellow journalist and my Tocayo. Bob Schieffer, who celebrates 82 wonderful birthdays today. Robert Lloyd Schieffer is a broadcast newsman known for his moderation of presidential debates, among the following accomplishments.
