The final between Spain and Argentina drew twenty three point nine million viewers on Telemundo alone... the most watched soccer match ever on Spanish language television. Streaming told an even bigger story. Peacock and Telemundo's digital platforms averaged three million viewers per minute... nearly four times what they pulled four years ago. Fox still drew the larger English language audience for the final... nearly thirty nine million viewers to Telemundo's twenty four million.But NBCUniversal executives say the real shift isn't about one night. It's strategic. Spanish language programming is now central to Peacock's growth plans... and Telemundo has passed longtime rival Univision to become the number one Spanish language network on both TikTok and YouTube.

Spanish language sports media didn't just have a good tournament. It crossed into the first tier of American media business.
