Adams is out of the race.
#CityImages has no political affiliation, but it appears to be little chance that Mayor Adams, Governor Cuomo, or Guardian Angel Sliwa will win this next Gotham Mayoral elections. https://vote.nyc/

MIAMI MICE

As a former Miami reporter, I have never seen anything like this. I am stunned by the latest South Florida GOP act of sabotage.
Has the Cuban dictatorship moved to Miami as city leaders flip the government in the Sunshine State on its head, as leaders' thirst for power turns into a mouse?

America is celebrating California Governor Gavin Newsom's recent political transformation and fiery speech confronting Donald Trump. Newsom has reached a critical turning point. An EFF IT moment, where he abandons traditional political caution and directly challenges Trump’s tactics with bold, aggressive countermeasures. Newsom gave an 8-minute speech filled with controlled anger and escalating rhetorical punches, likened to metaphorically hitting Trump with "Mike Tyson's law", that “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.”
The speech as the first truly adult and powerful Democratic response to Trump’s behavior. Newsom is evolving from a mild political figure to a forceful leader—the “Resistance,” the embodiment of the Democratic Party’s fight to preserve democracy. His most dramatic move was threatening to withhold California’s $692 billion in federal tax contributions, which is an economic "civil war game-ender." Governor Newsom is stepping into a national leadership role at a crucial time, potentially becoming a central figure in defending American democracy.

Thie Voting Rights Act was signed into law on August 6, 1965, by President Lyndon Johnson. It outlawed the discriminatory voting practices adopted in many southern states after the Civil War, including literacy tests as a prerequisite to voting. This “act to enforce the Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution” was signed into law 95 years after the amendment was ratified. In those years, African Americans in the South faced tremendous obstacles to voting, including poll taxes, literacy tests, and other bureaucratic restrictions to deny them the right to vote. They also risked harassment, intimidation, economic reprisals, and physical violence when they tried to register or vote. As a result, African American voter registration was limited, along with their political power.

LIES OR TRUTHS?

A difference between intelligence and recklessness.
It’s not about facts. It’s about fantasy.
People don’t follow frauds because they’re right.
They follow them because they’re unwavering.
Even when they’re dead wrong, they double down, and that confidence feels like strength.

Most people won’t chase the truth if it threatens their comfort.
That’s not just cynicism, it’s a psychological pattern and many follow out of fear. And that fear makes them cling to lies that feel safe, seen, and superior.

We're awash with predictions about the impact of artificial intelligence on higher education. The accounts differ wildly in their prognoses but share the assumption that AI is not going away, and is likely to upend every facet of how universities function. Enrollment managers may use it to increase yields; counselors could rely on it to address student health; student advisers will use it to boost retention; and financial analysts to model and mitigate risk. AI will continue to insert itself into the classroom, forever altering the relationship between faculty and students.
