Locals are once again welcoming one and all to the bi-annual Arts and Crafts Fair on City Island - A Slice of NYC Paradise.

The City Island Chamber of Commerce was established over 100 years ago, formerly the Board of Trade, to unite the businesses of City Island. Though the mix of businesses has changed, we still believe that the same values and interests should hold us together.

The poem, written in 1895 and first published in ‘Rewards and Fairies’, 1910 is 32 lines long with four stanzas of eight lines each. It is a tribute to Leander Starr Jameson. The poem is written in the form of paternal advice to the poet’s son, John.

When we first launched this blog, Ron Terner was kind enough to allow us to transmit live images of City Island avenue to grace our front page. Then, I had 28K views, according to Google analytics. We are now past 60K and growing.

Focal Point Gallery is the oldest establishment on City Island and Terner is celebrating 46 years in business, which is quite a feat, so let's give him a big hand. Let us also support him with dollars and cents. Ron is the greatest artist on the island.

Two lighthouses along Long Island Sound stand out of all the time-worn majestic structures flashing lights for the appreciated guidance of ships avoiding dangers. Execution Rocks and Stepping Stones can be seen atop rock islands of the choppy blue expanse known as Long Island Sound, just east of Throgs Neck, south of City Island, and west of the westernmost edge of Long Island.
