RIP Daniel K. Inouye

US Senator Daniel K. Inouye died at age 88 and was third in line for the US Presidency.

Senator Inouye was a Japanese American war veteran from Hawaii, who went to Washington in 1959, then dominated public life in the Hawaiian islands for more than 50 years and became the voice of conscience during the Watergate hearings and the Iran-contra scandal. He died on in Bethesda, Md.

NYC STREET PARKING RULES REINSTATED

The New York City Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Department of Sanitation, today announced that Alternate Side Parking (ASP) regulations are reinstated, effective Monday, Dec. 17, in Brooklyn Community Board 13 and Queens Community Board 14 (see attached maps). The reinstatement of ASP regulations will allow for necessary street maintenance as storm recovery efforts in these areas continue. With the reinstatement of regulations in Brooklyn Community Board 13 and Queens Community Board 14, all ASP regulations are in effect citywide.
