Don't believe everything you read. Always, check it out!

Recently, City Island Images noticed a few mistakes made by The City Island Chamber of Commerce, which listed Focal Point Gallery with the wrong address and telephone number. They published Carman's Service Station telephone number, instead of Focal Point.

Today, we see that City Island Civic Website lists Adolfo Carrion as Bronx Borough President, when in fact it's really Ruben Diaz Jr.

What is going on here? Don't they have time to check these facts before posting them on an official Website?

City Island Fire Company Rallly

Submitted by ub on

Along with the City Island Civic Association, NYC Council member Jimmy Vacca will be holding a rally on Monday, June 4 at 7:30 PM at St. Mary Star of the Sea School Gym (580 Minnieford Ave on City Island) to address the proposed closure of City Island's only ladder company.

It appears likely that Ladder 53 will once again be on the City's budgetary chopping block, which would give City Island the worst first-alarm response time in New York City. Please join us and help make it loud and clear that this is unacceptable to our community.
