The Johns serving The White House apparently went at each other's throats and the fight was taken outside. John Kelly, John Bolton engaged in shouting match at White House and it apparently got ugly.

John Kelly and John Bolton had a profanity-laced argument outside the Oval Office today, The shouting match was reportedly so intense others worried one of the two men might do something inappropriate.

Political Desperados

As a veteran journalist with no political affiliation, I wonder how can a conman tear into the fabric of American Democracy?
With Democrats on track to take control of The House of Representatives and maybe the Senate, these hyperpartisan politics appear to be on steroids.

Civil rights groups warn of large-scale voter suppression tactics in multiple states, while political campaigns are being waged from all sides with party members freaking out about the midterms.

Will GOP Cut Social Security?

The Republicans partied too hard when they gave all those tax cuts to the rich, despite warning this would definitely happen to US.

Corporate welfare mastermind and Republican Senator Mitch McConnell rejects abolition of unpaid for subsidies, handouts, giveaways and bailouts to big businesses, including his Koch brother paymasters. He is calling for desperately needed Social Security and Medicare "entitlements" and the American public has to stop the GOP from doing this to you and me.

Stop The Presses

Stop the presses is an idiomatic exclamation when significant information is discovered and specifically intended to stop publishing the latest edition of a newspaper because there is a late-breaking news development.

When content needed to be revised just before, or during its printing, the press was stopped and content amended, by changing the plates, type or font, before restarting it.

Our Fragile Democracy

A not so funny thing happened to me this morning on the way towards the evening. I spoke with a real stable genius who I will identify as AO, not AI because there is nothing artificial about this individual’s intelligence.

Like many others, AO expressed serious concern about the direction of our fragile American democracy and reminded me that we have both seen this rodeo before when as younger folks we experienced political grand larceny evolve into a full-fledged felony of the worst kind.

Edward R. Murrow was a CBS broadcast journalist and war correspondent who gained prominence during WWII with a series of live radio broadcasts from the field. He recruited a team of war correspondents who came to be known as the Murrow Boys.

It was 60 years ago today, that #Murrow delivered his famous "wires and lights in a box" warning. The news is meant to inform as a public service, not a platform for empty programming filling individual valuable time.

As a Cuban born American citizen, the father as well as grandfather of proud Americans and the son of Cuban-American immigrants, I have always taken US novelist and longtime social critic James Baldwin's words to heart: "I love America more than any other country in the world and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her ceaselessly."
