SPORTING DEBATE

The presidential debate can be approached by a presidential candidate the same way a professional athlete prepares for a championship. The presidential debate is the World Series, Stanley Cup, Super bowl, and NBA Championship all rolled into one for a presidential candidate.

Prime Time Presidential Political Performance

These reviews are mixed and not totally impressed by either candidate's performance.

Last night's debate featured comments from Romney about college graduates having a real tough time finding employment, but we heard no real specifics from Romney on how he would remedy that.

The two men said they were going to increase jobs, but they didn't say how and never seemed to lay out a plan. We heard about Wall Street, Banks Economy and regulations.

PRESIDENTIAL POLITICAL PERFORMANCES. Candidates Attack and Fight Back.
Much information, lots of promises and many accusations. GOP Hails Romney's First Act. We Won Number One. Even Democratic acknowledge that Romney beat Obama.

ROMNEY: I LOVE BIG BIRD & PBS. But Will Cut Funding.
Twitter users posted 17,000 tweets per minute mentioning the Sesame Street star shortly after the Republican presidential candidate made this proclamation, the most quoted sound bite of the debate.

TIGHT TENSIONS. Along Another National Border.

PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE SPORT

What a way for “the essential game” to kickoff, with the creating Jobs plan. Obama started his talk with showing love to his wife considering it is his anniversary. But then Romney response with congratulating Obama, but it seems like a fake congrats. I don’t know, but is it just me or does every time Romney talks it seems like BS, but I could be biased.

Every now and then local institutions score some decent personnel coups, if you will, and Trine University has to count itself among the fortunate this fall.

A couple of guys have found their way to the hallowed halls at Trine, and you can sort of say they come from similar backgrounds, just from opposite sides of the media fence.

INTERNET ADDICTION

Internet Use Addiction is now classified as a mental disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM-V). People in society today have become so reliant on the internet that this should come as no surprise. However, the questions on the minds of many are how to know if you are addicted and how this addiction would be treated.

A Chinese-owned windmill firm in the US has filed a law suit against President Barack Obama for blocking a wind farm deal the administration says is as a result of national security grounds.

Ralls Corp, a private firm, acquired four wind farm projects near a US naval facility in Oregon earlier this year. However, President Obama signed the order blocking the deal last week. The lawsuit alleges the US government overstepped its authority. This is the first foreign investment project to be blocked in the US for 22 years.

BIRTHS ARE NOT US

U.S. births have fallen for the fourth year in a row, according to government officials who are calling it more proof that the weak economy is connected to having children.

The drop in 2011 was only 1 percent, which was not as sharp a fall-off as the 2 to 3 percent drop seen in previous years.

Most striking in the new report were steep declines in Hispanic birth rates and a new low in teen births. Hispanics have been disproportionately affected by the flagging economy, experts say, and teen birth rates have been falling for 20 years.
