THE DEATH OF NEWS

Reflections of a Grade B Reporter

Since being offered the post of Grade B Reporter by the BBC in 1964, Martin Bell has spent more than half a century in the unquiet corners of the world, including four years in the surrogate war zone of the House of Commons.

It has been a period of rapid change in the way that wars have been fought and perceived, and of equally rapid change in the way that news has been gathered and presented. From Vietnam to Bosnia and beyond, the former BBC correspondent has been in the thick of it.

Latino Vote

Submitted by ub on

Are #HispanosUnidosdeAmerica Latinos united? Submitted by ub on

Americans are depressed and frustrated with the state of our current political climate that has reached new lows, with leaders scrambling to persuade their nominees to stick to the issues, to abandon attacks and negative tactics which have caused low morale among the US electorate.

We realize that political campaigns and elections are not supposed to be fun, but they should always reaffirm what’s best about democracy.

Medical Technology

Submitted by ub on

I am undergoing a series of medical procedures, which should answer the questions my doctors have raised recently... What's up with that?

Media marvels will be allowing hospital cameras to travel down my throat and also into my intestines for inspection (I've been assured that its not going to be the same camera) these tests, along with a scheduled cat scan ( I don't care for mean cats, or dogs for that matter) are being performed to take a closer look at my digestive system. I am told the stomach is the engine of our body.
