I met Gloria on the 6 Subway, when I arrived in NY decades ago to build News 12 The Bronx, and then launch AP Television in N. America.
She was watching me as I gave my seat to a Nun from Mother Theresa’s Convent in The Bronx. She moved closer, thanked and asked where I was from. I said it was the way I was brought up in Cuba. Following a short conversation, she said she was also a Cuban.
Coolness must be bestowwd and never claimed. Initially a descriptor of temperature, cool transitioned from referring to the environment to becoming a term for mental composure and rationality. Being cool is difficult. Staying cool is much harder. It’s an elusive quality, in part because it’s a word with layers of nuanced meaning that peel off as we travel through centuries.
Have you found that exploring jazz elements in classical works like Beethoven's changes the way you hear or appreciate music?
When classical music meets jazz inside concert settings or at nightclubs, the result is inspirational. We begin with ladies first as usual.
