It was sixty years ago today The Beatles taught us all to play and sing their tunes each day. It only took them one hour and five songs. 

Seventy-three million viewers became part of Beatlemania. That’s what it took to cement the Beatles in the hearts of Americans and create one of the most iconic moments in television history. On February 9, 1964, John, Paul, George and Ringo achieved just this during their debut performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show.”

“We Shall Not Be Moved” expresses resolve in the face of adversity; as social movements persevere in struggles to build a better nation.

Taskiana Four made the earliest known recording of “I Shall Not Be Moved” for the RCA Victor Talking Machine Company on July 21, 1926. Jubilee quartets, popular in the first half of the twentieth century, sang harmonized arrangements of spirituals as well as newer hymns. Taskiana Four’s recording featured the following verses:

The last day of Chinese New Year Celebrations is called the Lantern Festival, or Yuan Xiao Jie in Mandarin. 
It takes place on the 15th day of the first lunar month. The first full moon of the year.

These sounds also include music sung in Spanish or Portuguese. A key feature of Latin music is its rhythm, which is often inspired by traditional African beats developed in the Caribbean. The most basic Latin rhythm is called the clave.

John Emmet Raitt was an American actor and singer. He was best known for his performances in musical theatre.

Raitt’s most notable roles were Billy Bigelow in the original Broadway cast of Carousel and Curly in the original Chicago production of Oklahoma.
