THE OLDEST PROFESSION

it has been said the world’s oldest profession is hunting or farming, but I like to say that it is teaching wisdom and sharing knowledge.

Some believe Greedflation is responsible for the hike in the cost of living in recent years, and teachers have felt the greatest squeeze.

Unfortunately, financial pressures have long affected adjuncts, and substitute teachers, whose pay often falls well below a livable wage. But even those fortunate enough to have a tenured position might find themselves safe from economic forces.

Have you ever suddenly heard a familiar tune or remembered a song over the airwaves that you once thoroughly enjoyed listening to?

As we know it is easy to just chalk every extreme weather event up to climate change, but the data tells us we cannot ignore it

there is a meteorological phrase that we often refer to this time of year: "As November goes, so goes the winter."  Meaning, the weather in November can often be an indicator of how the winter will go.

This raises the stakes even more over the next several weeks.

After arriving from Habana, growing up on the East Coast, then living in Miami for years, I moved out west, now to LA and back to NYC.

Some things were easy to adjust to, like the climate and the differences in public transportation.Other things threw me off, like LA's chill attitude and the slower pace of Miami.

Allow me to point out the distinctions between unprocessed and processed agave, and the potential health implications of drinking tequila.

Some online content reports that tequila has health benefits. However, research shows that any health benefits tequila may provide derive from compounds in its raw ingredients, not from the alcohol itself.

Here is an interesting look into modern research on hangover cures. A study from Sun Yat-sen University provides a great example of how scientists are analyzing the biochemical processes behind hangovers and exploring potential remedies. By focusing on how certain substances interact with the enzymes involved in alcohol metabolism—like acetaldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) and alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH)—they’ve been able to pinpoint specific drinks that might help or hinder recovery.

The Democrats could, would, should feel free to organize a rally and peaceful protest on January 6, 2024, before the VP refuses to certify the election. If it's good for the GOP goose, it should also apply to the Democrat gander. A similar situation should be treated the same way that another action is treated. Now more than ever We The People need Digital Democracy.

Some New Yorkers are sounding the fire 🚨 alarm filling the driest lackluster month of choke October.

According to published reports, New York City agencies are being ordered to prepare water conservation plans and residents urged to “conserve every drop possible” amid a drought watch following a historically dry October.
