A Bi-State Special Panel on the Future of the Port Authority has provided a report following its initial 60 day review of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, consistent with its charge from Governors Cuomo and Christie.

The report includes an initial review of recent reform efforts, identifies areas for additional reform and review, and details next steps for continuing the Panel’s work over the course of the next six months.

EAST COAST FIREWORKS

Also, there will not be a fireworks display at the Co-Op City Little League Field in the Bronx because of inclement weather, the fireworks display will be postponed until Saturday, 7/5/14, at approximately 9:00 PM.

We repeat. Due to weather conditions, the Co-op City fireworks show, which was scheduled for tonight has now been postponed.

The display will be held Saturday, July 5 at 9 p.m. at the Co-op City Little League Field, located at 177 Dreiser Loop.

WEATHER WARNINGS

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for the entire NYC area tonight.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall caused flooding of urban neighborhoods, highways, and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. The water depth was too great to allow some cars to cross some streets safely.

New Fordham Street Condos

Greystone Development Corporation continues its huge construction project on the corner of Fordham Street and Place.

City Island Images was asked about the early morning noise being made as they build approximately 43 condominium units, or two family homes in 22 buildings.

According to NYC building rules and regulations, construction is allowed between 8a-6p Monday thru Friday. and 10a on weekends.

NY Governor Partners with 100 Chambers

The partnership will reach over 50,000 businesses, according to NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, who announced a major outreach project between the Department of Labor and more than 100 regional chambers of commerce throughout New York State as part of strategic approach to provide free services and help businesses access capital incentives, grow their workforce and manage their operations.

Don't Rule Belgium Out

If you wonder just how important the World Cup is to the players competing in it, all you had to do is keep an eye on Belgium during their match when they beat Team USA.

One of the only positives for this European nation is FIFA World Cup games. This tiny nation is experiencing a serious political debate about its future, with a separatist movement gaining strength.

Belgium is caught in a standoff without a major party capable of forming a government. Unfortunately, an age-old split between two distinct regions speaking different languages is flaring up once again.

USA has a great opportunity to beat Belgium @ 4P Today and turn our nation into soccer fanatics all the way. Expect a physical, defensive and anxiety-ridden game. Not the happy soccer that fans have enjoyed during these World Cup Games.

Finally, the football sports bug has bitten the American public after years of trying to coax fans to join into this the global game. Better late than never, that love light has turned on.
