While HURRICANE JOAQUIN continues to produce
cloud tops colder than -80C in the eyewall, the eye has not become
better defined since the last advisory. Satellite intensity
estimates are 77 kt from both TAFB and SAB, so the advisory
intensity is now 75 kt.

The initial motion is 225/7. The shortwave ridge causing this
motion is expected to weaken during the next 24-48 hours as a strong
deep-layer trough develops over the southeastern United States.
Thus, a generally southwestward motion is expected for the next 36

During a news conference at NASA headquarters today, agency scientists and officials discussed new findings from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) that provide the strongest evidence yet that liquid water flows intermittently on present-day Mars.

Using an imaging spectrometer on MRO, researchers detected signatures of hydrated minerals on slopes where mysterious streaks are seen on the Red Planet. These downhill flows, known as recurring slope lineae (RSL), often have been described as possibly related to liquid water.

With a new cold war type handshake, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Barack Obama started their first formal meeting in a couple of years, a no holes barred discussion about deep differences over the chaos in Syria.

These two leaders met after they outlined their contrasting visions for Syria's future in dueling speeches at the United Nations General Assembly. Obama urged a political transition to replace embattled Syrian President Bashar Assad, while Putin warned it would be a mistake to abandon the current government.

Even so, it's a mistake to think all readers are also book-lovers that feel the same way and are created equal. Some of us came to reading later in life, and others were gulping down books as soon as we could piece together sentences.

Getting our audience to bite on the units measuring the size of information on a computer, or other electronic devices increases the effect of our pitches across platforms and requires us to be mindful of several things, lest it end up deleted, ignored, or in the garbage.

In the social media age, making sure we don’t waste time is only half the battle. That’s because we have to think about how that person can share the message with his or her network and, in the process, enhance the value of the message.
