The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese calendar, which is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most important festival to Chinese people after the Spring Festival. Every year, when the festival comes, Chinese go home from every corner of the country and the world for family reunions.

The Holy Father has left The Big Apple. The Pope toured Habana, Cuba, as well as Washington, DC, New York City and finally Philly today and tomorrow, where The Pontiff when he wraps up his whirlwind American tour replete with with peace and spirituality. He addressed US Politicians, world leaders, but it is obvious that his preferred flock are those, who are marginalized, the poor and the under-served.

And for those political pundits who criticize The Pope, who is asking us all to care for each other and to do unto others, CITY IMAGES says, its high time to get with the program.

The Holy Father arrived in New York City and was immediately greeted by cheering fans and supporters at John F. Kennedy Airport as he began his historic, whirlwind tour through the United States. He is the first Hispanic Pope, as well as the first Jesuit to serve as Pontiff.

Pope Francis' historic 40-hour pilgrimage to the city that never sleeps started by taking a drive up Fifth Avenue all the way to St. Patrick Cathedral., where he held a prayer service for all devotees.

The Pope is in NYC, and everyone is bound to see and feel the impact, even if they try to stay far away from Francis’ big events.

Pope Francis’ visit to The Big Apple, the first since Benedict XVI toured the city for three days in 2008, will have wide ranging implications in major and expected ways -- like traffic -- while making some surprising impacts -- including to mail delivery.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE?

A Jew, a Communist and a practicing Catholic were working a construction site in Argentina. It’s not a joke but a story Pope Francis told to a group of young Cubans urging them to seek friendships across the political divide. “They were all working for the common good,” Francis said. “This is social friendship, to look for the common good.” It is a poignant message in the Cuban nation split between pro and anti-regime sentiments.

To know Pope Francis is to understand his long identity as a Jesuit. It may be logical to mistake this Pope for a modern day St. Francis of Assisi, given his emphasis on helping society’s outcasts and his focus on the Christian moral duty to protect the disenfranchised and our environment.
