Poly" is a versatile prefix and slang term primarily meaning "many" or "multiple". Depending on context, it most commonly refers to polyamory romantic relationships with multiple people.
A parasite is an organism that lives on or inside another organism (the host) and survives by taking nutrients at the host's expense. While they rely entirely on the host for survival, they can cause mild to severe illnesses and act as vectors for life-threatening diseases.
