The following New York Maps Show Where the State Will Become Underwater From Sea Level Rise.

Portions of Manhattan, Long Beach, Coney Island and others are at risk of being consumed by water as sea levels rise due to the effects of climate change in the coming century, modeling suggests.

By the year 2100, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) estimates there will be between 43 and 84 centimeters (1.4-2.8 feet) of sea level rise, but that an increase of 2 meters (6.6 feet) "cannot be ruled out."

USA Coastal residents should start now and not spend another day or wait to make preparations for this year’s hurricane season.

The 2024 Central North Pacific hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th and forecasters are expecting extremely active weather patterns to develop and threaten coastal areas.

Forecasters predict an extremely active 2024 Atlantic hurricane season

Colorado State University’s hurricane forecasting team is calling for a near-record active season with 23 named storms, 11 hurricanes, and five major hurricanes.

NYC SNOW DAY

A major winter storm is intensifying across the Tri-State area, with heavy snow dumping a few inches per hour across the NYC area,

New York City schools are closed today, including the university where I teach 50 students in The Bronx.

Due to anticipated inclement weather conditions, all in-person classes and activities are canceled for Tuesday, February 13, 2024. In-person instructors will notify students about adjusted schedules and course formats. Online classes will meet as scheduled.

More snow expected in Tri-State Area: How much snowfall will New York, New Jersey and Connecticut be getting next week?

Reportedly, this winter has not delivered, Lttle snow recorded thus far. That matches the snowfall received for all of last winter.

Mild temperatures have been prevalent once again this winter, and that has led to more rain falling than snow storms..

There is an increasing possibility of stronger storms as ocean waters continue to warm.
