Fasten your seatbelts folks. Why is turbulence increasing? Rougher skies may be from climate change, scientists begin to cry out.

Prepare for the possibility of more shake, rattle, and roll with bumping on your next flight, a study by scientists at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.

GOP CLIMATE DENIERS

While the world witnesses climate change, the GOP's new curriculum minimizes teaching about the dangers of global warming and scientific information.

This disinformation goes back to Richard M. Nixon at a 1966 campaign stump meeting. Generations later, the Republicans continue to institutionalize willful ignorance teaching children to hate windmills and love fossil fuels.

DISASTER IN PARADISE

A dangerous and deadly combination of conditions caused the raging wildfires to engulf the island of Maui. Over a hundred died.

For too long, Americans have been lied to by Republican deniers about the severity and developing dangers of climate change. Still, we now see and feel deaths mounting and the increasing toll of property destruction.

As an American citizen who has traveled to Hawaii, it saddens me to see that island state destruction due to science denial GOP propaganda.

PLANET SIZZLE

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver.

It’s about time #WeThePeople do something about the burning of fossil fuels which produces heat-trapping gases.

Earth reaches hottest day recorded a few days in a row

As greenhouse gas emissions blanket the Earth, they trap the sun’s heat. This leads to global warming and climate change. The world is now warming faster than at any point in recorded history.

ORANGE PLANET

Mars is called the red planet, named for the Roman god of war, and has long been an omen appearing throughout the night sky.

That planet’s rusty red surface tells a story of destruction. Billions of years ago, the fourth planet from the sun could have been mistaken for Earth’s smaller twin, with liquid water on its surface and perhaps life.

One of those urban areas where residents aren’t used to temperature extremes and many homes don't have air conditioning,

In a world where temperatures rise 5-10 degrees, unlike Floridians, San Francisco residents are ill-equipped for dealing with heat and it could be economically damaging.

Other cities with more gradually increasing risk on the Moody’s Analytics list are:

Cape Coral, FL

New York City

Long Island, NY

Oakland, CA

NOAA declares El Nino watch, with large-scale atmospheric and oceanic changes being detected for the next ENSO phase.

El Niño is the cycle's warm phase when ocean temperatures in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean rise and there is more precipitation. El Niño causes the Pacific jet stream to move south and spread further east.

What to watch for: El Nino likely to develop this summer https://www.noaa.gov/news/what-to-watch-for-el-nino-likely-to-develop-s…
