Quit Facebook and become happier, this according to a new study from a global organization, which enjoys spreading knowledge of subjective well-being to a larger audiences.

The Happiness Research Institute is an independent think tank focusing on life satisfaction, happiness and quality of life. The group's mission is to inform decision makers of the causes and effects of human happiness, make subjective well-being part of the public policy debate, and improve the quality of life for citizens across the world.

Why is it that following acts of violence, which causes multiple deaths, the media keeps mentioning the perpetrator? These people who commit crimes are sick people seeking attention and the media gives it to them every time. We need to have conversations with friends and colleagues about this problem.

CITY IMAGES proposes that these criminals be left in the shadows to lurk in their own darkness. The emotional crescendo of family friends and our nation is understandable following tormented losses, most of which are caused by the growing access of guns in this country.

Social, or anti social media?

Many media tools are designed for online mingling, but are also equipped with features that make it easy to ignore your contacts.

Twitter is an example: Click on your former friend’s profile, then click the gear symbol and scroll down to select “mute.” These tweets will disappear from your feed, but they will never know about your action. Facebook has similar options for secretly tuning out specific friends.

Instagram is among the services that do not make this easy, although there are third-party apps that claim to let you filter your feed.
