THOUGHTS ON FIRST DEBATE

While watching the 2012 Presidential Debate I not only learned a lot about the outlook on our country’s government, but I also learned a substantial amount about each candidate.

If compared to a sporting event, the Debate would be compared to a boxing match, or in the words of the reporter at the end of the Debate on NBC, “If I were to compare this to any sporting event it would be football, and the winner would be whoever had the most possessions.” The candidates certainly had their allotted possession time, and more.

BOND GENDER ROLES - CASINO ROYALE

In the 1967 version of Casino Royale, James Bond is forced to come out of retirement to help save the world. In doing so, he first develops a plan to confuse his enemies by creating multiple Bonds. In the film, women are a constant theme. At first it seems that they are all weak, especially when it came to James. Eventually, James begins showing the power of the women by using them as weapons against the other men. At one point, MI-6 was training a decoy Bond to be able to overcome the seduction of beautiful women, one of which introduced herself as the agency’s newest secret weapon.

WHO WON THE DEBATE?

Republican Governor Mitt Romney? Democrat President Barack Obama? Believe it or not, it appears that the winner of the first presidential debate may have been Twitter.

According to statistics release by Twitter, it's users sent a record 10.3 million tweets, which represents a new milestone in the revolution of how Americans take part in the political process.

With their iPads and smart phones, millions of people virtually joined the candidates on that Denver debate stage, analyzing every word in real time Twitter.

CANDIDATES FIGHT BACK. Digs At Opponent's Claims.
President Barack Obama ridicules Governor Mitt Romney for espousing new-found moderate views during the first presidential debate. Meanwhile Romney drops his harsh conservative rhetoric. The GOP nominee emphasised the struggling middle class and embraced Medicare, a US government program which is one of the largest deficit drivers in US.

The current champion, Barack Obama, must perform at his peak in order to win against newcomer Mitt Romney.

SPORTING DEBATE

The presidential debate can be approached by a presidential candidate the same way a professional athlete prepares for a championship. The presidential debate is the World Series, Stanley Cup, Super bowl, and NBA Championship all rolled into one for a presidential candidate.

Prime Time Presidential Political Performance

These reviews are mixed and not totally impressed by either candidate's performance.

Last night's debate featured comments from Romney about college graduates having a real tough time finding employment, but we heard no real specifics from Romney on how he would remedy that.

The two men said they were going to increase jobs, but they didn't say how and never seemed to lay out a plan. We heard about Wall Street, Banks Economy and regulations.

Much information, lots of promises and many accusations. GOP Hails Romney's First Act. We Won Number One. Even Democratic acknowledge that Romney beat Obama.

Twitter users posted 17,000 tweets per minute mentioning the Sesame Street star shortly after the Republican presidential candidate made this proclamation, the most quoted sound bite of the debate.
